Zed Chex anti-fatigue matting helps prevent health problems
A 2005 TUC report states that up to 11 million UK workers face serious health problems from prolonged standing at work. Each year more than two million sick days are lost due to lower limb disorders, with nearly 200,000 people reporting lower limb ailments caused or made worse by their job including work-related varicose veins, poor circulation and swelling in the feet and legs, foot problems and joint damage.
To help overcome these problems, employers use anti-fatigue matting. Zed Chex from Plastic Extruders Ltd is specially designed to relieve standing fatigue caused by long periods of standing or walking on hard, concrete floors – about the worst possible surface. Manufactured by thermally bonding patented Zedland foam to a tough vinyl chequer plate wear layer, Zed Chex will not suffer from separation.

As director of security consultancy and provider Premier Security Services and with more than 20 years’ experience working with logistics firms, I understand the problems they face, particularly during tough times like these. As we enter the new year, I want to share some tips and advice on how to ensure the security of your logistics operations
Mitsubishi’s warehouse trucks help increase order picking efficiency
Comprehensive line-up and class-leading performance from Mitsubishi‘s warehouse range help increase order picking productivity.
One of the key requirements of any warehouse operation, if efficiency is to be optimised, is a professional assessment of each materials handling application. This will identify precisely the right type of warehouse truck – and the precise configuration needed – for every task. The next step is to compare quality and performance between suitable trucks offered by a range of manufacturers. On all counts, Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks says it has something very special to offer.
EPAL’s world pallet warning
EPAL has warned that World pallets are not exchangeable in its European Pallet Pool, following reports that they are appearing in the UK market.
Earlier this year, the German district court of Erfurt prohibited Falkenhahn AG from offering or selling wooden flat pallets carry the branding ‘World’ in an oval shape (reference number Az. 3 O 987/08), a mark that has a similar appearance to the ‘EUR’ and ‘EPAL’ trademark symbols – also in an oval - which have been used on EPAL Euro pallets for many years.
