I had the pleasure of attending a press event hosted by Geodis Calberson at the lush RAC Club in Pall Mall. The location was one thing, but the news that came out of the event was very encouraging.
The global logistics company, which is owned by the French state railway company SNCF, is enjoying something of a boom, despite the gloomy economic conditions. Its Fortec pallet distribution network increased its export shipments year-on-year from 2008 to date by 23%. It grew its domestic shipments over the same period by 17%. It was "disappointed, but not surprised" that it grew its sales by "only" 2%.
To cap it all, we were served with some wonderful prawn kebabs. Could things ever get any better than that?
