Stuck in the middle

No, not that excellent song by Stealers Wheel, but a position in which I find myself at this precise moment - in the middle of a massive cross-Britain road trip.

Having zoomed up the A1 on Monday to visit the Co-Op's new Distribution Centre - taking in the wonderful Angel of the North which stands just nearby  - I headed south on Tuesday to the Leeds area to meet with one of our advertisers about editorial opportunities. Back home in south London, and with 586 miles and 11 hours of driving on the clock (a pretty decent average speed of 53mph), I'm contemplating another long drive tomorrow.

But it will be worth every mile per hour, as my next journey is to Cabot Park on the edge of Bristol, where ShD South West takes place on Wednesday (June 17th). The first of two regional shows we are staging this year, ShD South West should pull in a reasonable crowd, as I have been party to some significant marketing campaigns by my colleagues aimed at attracting visitors to the event. Fingers crossed, it will be an enjoyable day.

Another 330 miles and six hours of motoring. Still, Verdi's Requiem is loaded up to keep me awake in the morning on the way there, and Hits of the 70s will entertain me for the return leg. Altogether now, "Clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am, stuck in the middle with you..."
