Well done Darius
Darius Januskevicius of third party logistics provider Century Logistics was a worthy winner of the Warehouse Person of the Year Award at UKWA's recent annual awards ceremony at the Dorchester Hotel. Hailing from, as he put it, Lithuania's "seventh-biggest city", 'Darek' cut an impressive figure as he strode up to the stage to collect his award. His smart appearance and cultured manner stands him out from any crowd, and whilst chatting to him afterwards I was impressed by his ambition.
Arriving in the UK five years ago, he has made a significant contribution to Century's business, and the respect he commands was clear when I was talking with his MD, Stephen Basey-Fisher. Norfolk has never been the most fashionable place to run a business, but Century is making significant waves as it strives to offer its customers a superior service in these challenging times.
Our business is as much about people as any other business, and the only way to get ahead is to invest in your people and to reward them. Darek is the epitome of that.
