Enersys launches range of Hawker XFC batteries
The new range of Hawker XFC batteries with 2V cells from EnerSys provides materials handling equipment manufacturers and operators with greater flexibility to specify plug-and-play power sources that can be charged for as long and as often as required to support total operational autonomy.
The batteries combine advanced performance and high efficiency with low overall cost of ownership and are suitable for a range of materials handling applications including counterbalance trucks, reach trucks, pallet trucks, order pickers and AGVs. Minimum gassing ensures they can be used in retail areas, public spaces and sensitive manufacturing locations. The battery is maintenance free and no water topping-up is necessary.

Packaging firm fined after employee’s death
Chesterfield-based firm The Corrugated Case Company has been significantly fined after one of its workers was hit by a heavy goods vehicle due to congestion in the company’s yard.
The packaging company pleaded guilty to breaching Section 17(1) of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and Regulation 3(1)(a) of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 before North East Derbyshire Magistrates this week.
FTA offers members GreenRoad discount
The Freight Transport Association has announced that it is offering its members an exclusive 10% discount on GreenRoad, enabling its members to achieve faster ROI with enhanced safety and reduced fuel consumption.
GreenRoad is one of the leaders in driver performance and safety management, with its drivers logging over 7.4 billion miles in 2011. It gives drivers instant feedback on their performance using green-amber-red LEDs on the dashboard. Using proprietary technology, GreenRoad analyses the driving and the lights indicate the severity of each manoeuvre, for example speeding, braking, acceleration, lane-handling and turning. .
Joloda to provide JIT delivery to Jaguar
Joloda has been awarded the contract to supply what it believes is the first-ever automatic delivery of tyres and wheels to the UK automotive industry.
Joloda will install an automatic Moving Floor loading dock at the tyre and wheel supplier to Jaguar, TTAS in Castle Bromwich, six miles from the Jaguar manufacturing plant. This is to meet high the demand for the new XF Jaguar sports car.
Clipper wins deal with new e-tailer
US baby goods etailer zulily has awarded Clipper a contract to provide e-fulfilment processes for its newly-launched UK online store.
The UK website which opened for business at the start of April, will have between five and 10 daily sales events which last up to 72 hours. Membership of zulily is free, and members can take advantage of discounts of up to 90% on branded products.
