Developers step up activity for Milton Keynes logistics property

More than 2m sq ft of distribution property deals are in prospect around Milton Keynes as developers step up activity.

Burbage Realty, the specialist logsitics property consultancy, say the town is bracing atsleast of “at least” 2m sq ft of new requirements. Retailers are said to be particularly active.

The claims come as developers Hampton Brook and Roxhill win planning permission for a 230,000 sq ft development in the town.

The site, close to the Abbey Hill roundabout on the A5 trunk road, was once occupied by Alps Electronics. The quoting rent is £5.95 a sq ft. Agents are now seeking a pre-let occupier at the shovel-ready development site.

James Harrison, director at Burbage Realty, said: “We’ve got permission for a building 18m eves height, which is a rare commodity in Milton Keynes. We’re looking at either leasehold, or a freehold sale in a town which steady take-up of logistics floorspace and a distinct lack of good stock.”

Lambert Smith Hampton and Budworth Hardcastle  are joint letting agents with Burbage Realty.
